On Monday, September 24, 2007, Senator Connor submitted testimony before senior DHCR (Division of Housing and Community Renewal) officials praising Governor Spitzer and DHCR Commissioner Deborah Von Amerongon for their plans to close loopholes in the rent regulations and to combat landlords who abuse the "unique or peculiar clause". A day before the September 11th memorial ceremonies, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Governor Eliot Spitzer walked among cranes and jackhammers as they toured the World Trade Center site Monday.
